This was a dish prepared in a 12" dutch oven, at 450 degrees, or 8 coals on the bottom and 25 coals on top of the lip. It was excellent! Probably the best pizza I have ever eaten! And I have eaten at Gino's in Chicago!

Recipe Ingredients for Asparagus and black bean pizza

3/4 cup pizza sauce
2 Pouch Mix Pizza Crust Mix
6 ounces mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup black beans
6 asparagus spears
1/3 cup broccoli
1 cup black olives
1 clove garlic

Recipe Directions for Asparagus and black bean pizza

  1. Mix up the pizza crust according to the directions with I think it is 1 cup of water? Let that sit for 5 minutes.

  2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees, or if cooking with coals don't do that yet as you will need to spread out the crust on this pan.

  3. Cut up toppings.

  4. Spread the crust in your dutch oven, or that's what I used instead of a cast-iron pizza pan and that turned out great!

  5. Let that cook for 12 minutes check on and if not done, check every six minutes there after.

  6. This will have a golden crust and be very firm.
