Recipe Ingredients for Asian Slowcooker Turkey Stew

0.77 kg turkey, thigh, boneless skinless, chopped into bite sized pieces
1 tbsp canola oil
1 medium onion, sliced
2 tsp ginger, freshly grated
6 shitake mushrooms, coarsely chopped
10 new potatoes
3 tbsp miso paste
3 cups water
3 green onions, chopped

Recipe Directions for Asian Slowcooker Turkey Stew

  1. Saute onion, over medium heat for about 2 minutes.

  2. Add ginger and mushrooms to the pan for another 2 minutes.

  3. Add turkey pieces and brown them.

  4. Once turkey is browned, transfer all contents from the pan to a slow cooker. Add potatoes. Dissolve miso paste in one cup of hot water. Add it and the rest of water to the slow cooker. Stir and try to ensure that all the potatoes are submerged in the liquid.

  5. Cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or on low for 6 to 8 hours.

  6. Garnish with green onions.
