This is the recipe off the back of the Ghirardelli bag, with a few modifications to make them healthier (whole wheat flour- use Bobs red mill, its undetectable), and softer (using all brown sugar, and melting the butter). Yield: 4 dozen Prep Time: 15 minutes Bake Time: 11 minutes

Recipe Ingredients for Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 1/4 c. whole wheat pastry flour, unsifted
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
2 large eggs
1/2 tsp. salt
12 oz. chocolate chips, Ghirardelli 60%
1 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. chopped walnuts, optional
1 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed*

Recipe Directions for Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Preheat oven to 375F.

  2. In a medium bowl, stir flour with baking soda and salt, set aside. In a large mixer bowl, beat butter and sugars at medium speed until lightened in color. Add vanilla and eggs, one at a time, mix on low speed until incorporated.

  3. Gradually blend flour mixture into creamed mixture. Gently stir in chocolate chips, and walnuts if you choose. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets, bake for 9-11 minutes until golden brown.

  4. * You may use 3/4 cup each white and brown sugar, 1 c. brown and 1/2 c. white (my fav), any combo really.
