Recipe Ingredients for Applesauce Noodle Kugel


Kugel:
16 ounce wide egg noodles
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3/4 cup fat free sour cream
6 eggs
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup no calorie splenda
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 fl oz unsweetened applesauce
1/4 cup raisins
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (to taste)

Topping:
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
4 tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Applesauce Noodle Kugel

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook noodles in boiling water for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together margarine, sour cream, egg substitute, sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and applesauce. Stir in noodles and raisins.

  3. Pour the noodle mixture into the dish. Sprinkle top with topping mixture.

  4. Bake 45 to 60 minutes in the preheated oven, or until set. Cover with foil if it browns too quickly.
