Recipe Ingredients for Applesauce and Bran Cake

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon cloves
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1/2 cup All-Bran Bran Buds
1 cup raisins
1 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe Directions for Applesauce and Bran Cake

  1. 1. Stir together flour, soda and spices. Set aside.

  2. 2. In large mixing bowl, beat together shortening and sugar until combined. Add

  3. eggs. Beat well. Stir in applesauce. Add KELLOGG'S ALL-BRAN cereal and flour

  4. mixture, mixing until combined.. Stir in raisins and chopped walnuts. Spread in

  5. 8 1/4-inch ring mold, tube pan or 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan coated with cooking spray.

  6. Decorate with walnuts halves.

  7. 3. Bake at 350 F about 1 hour or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out

  8. clean. Let cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool completely on wire

  9. rack.

  10. Yield: 1 cake, 15 slices
