Basic Whole Wheat Pancakes with a cinnamon apple and pecan flavor. Serving size is for 3, 3-4" diameter cakes. Each individual pancake has 101kCal, 1.2g fat, no saturated or trans fat, 21mg cholesterol, 148mg sodium, 18.9g CHO including 0.6g fiber and 5g sugar, 3.4g protein, 2% Vit A, 9% Calcium, and 6% Iron. Eggs can be substitued with Egg Beaters and the sugar with simply more Apple Butter for an even healthie mix.

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Whole Wheat Pancakes

1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
2 tbsp sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 egg, beaten
1 cup skim milk
1 tbsp Apple Butter
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp Pecans, crushed
1 tsp Vanilla Extract

Recipe Directions for Apple Whole Wheat Pancakes

  1. Heat a large skillet or griddle to the lower end of medium high heat.

  2. Combine all dry ingredients into a large mixing bowl.

  3. Add egg, milk, apple butter, and vanilla, stir to a well mixed but slightly lumpy consistency.

  4. Place 1/4 cup of batter onto the ungreased skillet per pancake.

  5. When top layer appears dry, bubbles, and the edges appear slightly browned, flip. Watch them closely, as this type is keen on burning very easily.

  6. Makes 3 servings of 3, silver dollar sized pancakes.
