Crock Pot recipe: Apples slow cooked in butter, sugar, and their own juices. It's a bit like apple pie without the crust. Great for Christmas morning breakfast as well as dessert. Alternative: Try Granny Smith apples instead of Gala.

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Smoosh

12 gala apples
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup sugar
8 tbsp Margarine Parkay
1/4 cup Golden Raisins

Recipe Directions for Apple Smoosh

  1. Cut up apples into bite size chunks (peel first if you prefer).

  2. Add all ingredients to Crock Pot.

  3. Add cinnamon and/or other spices if preferred (cloves, all spice, etc.)

  4. Cook on low for 6 hours.

  5. Serve with Cheez-Its (yes, really) for a redneck flair.
