A great individual alternative to apple pie

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Pie Turnovers

1 sheet Puff Pastry, frozen, ready-to-bake, baked
4 Apples
1 T Canola oil
2 T Honey
2 t Cinnamon
1 t Nutmeg
1 pinch Salt
1/4 c Apple juice, no sugar added
1 Egg
2 T Water
1 T Raw sugar

Recipe Directions for Apple Pie Turnovers

  1. Thaw puff pastry

  2. Peel, core and slice apples

  3. Saute apple with cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, apple juice

  4. chill

  5. Preheat oven to 350 F

  6. Roll out pastry, divide into 9 squares

  7. Make an egg wash with 1 egg and 2 T water

  8. Brush the border of the pastry and place 1/4 C apples in the middle of pastry

  9. Fold pastry over and seal then brush with egg wash and sprinkle with raw sugar

  10. Bake for 20 - 25 minutes
