lucky leaf sliced apples recipe on can. did not include 1 T margarine in this pie that was in the recipe. Used Splenda instead of sugar and tapioca instead of 2T cornstarch(was out). Am changing recipe cause I cut off of my pieces enough crust to = 1 crust or more.

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Pie 1

20 oz sliced apples, canned
1/2 cup splenda
8 tsp tapioca, dr
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 refrigerated pastry crusts
1/4 cup water

Recipe Directions for Apple Pie 1

  1. Drain sliced apples and, if necessary, add water or apple juice to make 1/4 of liquid. Put apples and liquid into pastry lined 8-inch pie plate. Mix dry ingredients. Sprinkle over apples. Dot with butter or margerine. Cover with vented top crust. Bake at 425 degrees F. for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F. and bake 25-35 minutes until golden brown.

  2. After first 10 minutes, if desired, put pastry crust protector or foil over edges of crust to keep from browning too much.
