Homemade apple preserves, with cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves. Delicious on a bowl of oatmeal. Use tart apples, although I've successfully made it with Honeycrisps, too.

Recipe Ingredients for Apple-Maple Preserves

12 cup apples, chopped
6 cup sugar
1 cup maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon, ground
1/2 tsp allspice, ground
1/2 tsp nutmeg, ground
1/2 tsp cloves, ground

Recipe Directions for Apple-Maple Preserves

  1. mix all the ingredients and cook until thickened.

  2. Can, using a rolling water bath for 10 minutes. Makes about 8 cups.
