Recipe Ingredients for Apple Maple Muffins

2 cups Gold Medal whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 1/4 cup unsweetened apple sauce
1/2 cup sugar free syrup
2 egg whites
1/4 cup walnuts

Recipe Directions for Apple Maple Muffins

  1. Preheat oven at 350

  2. Combine the flour and baking powder, and stir to mix well.

  3. Add the applesauce, maple syrup, and egg whites, and stir just until the dry ingredients are moistened.

  4. Fold in the walnuts.

  5. Coat muffin cups with nonstick cooking spray, and fill 3/4 full with the batter.

  6. Bake at 350 for 16 to 18 minutes, or just until a wooden toothpick inserted in the center of a muffin comes out clean.

  7. Remove the muffin tin from the oven, and allow to sit for 5 minutes before removing the muffins.

  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
