A quick, easy, very tasty alternative to apple pie. Add a small amount of softly whipped cream or a vanilla ice cream/yogurt to dress it up

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Crisp

4 apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, slightly softened
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp nutmeg

Recipe Directions for Apple Crisp

  1. Preheat oven to 375.

  2. Combine flour, oatmeal, salt, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter until mixture resembles very coarse crumbs.

  3. Arrange apples in the bottom of an 8 x 8 dish. Pour crumb mixture evenly over the top.

  4. Bake 30 minutes, or until apples in the center are softened and the crumb topping is browned. The type of apple being used determines how long the crisp needs to be cooked.
