Recipe Ingredients for Apple Crisp

10 cups chopped apples
1/4 cup white flour
1/4 cup wheat flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup water
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup 7-grain cereal
1/2 cup white flour
1/2 cup wheat flour
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup margarine

Recipe Directions for Apple Crisp

  1. Place apples in a large bowl.

  2. In another bowl combine 1/2 cup flours, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  3. Mix into apples to coat apples.

  4. Place apple mixture into bottom of 11x17 pan. Sprinkle with 1/4 cup water.

  5. Melt margarine.

  6. In another bowl, mix oats/cereal, flours, brown sugar, cinnamon and nuts.

  7. Stir in butter to moisten.

  8. Sprinkle over the top of the apples.

  9. Cook covered with foil for 35 minutes at 375.

  10. Take foil off and cook for another 10-15 minutes--or until apples are tender.

  11. This is technically a dessert, but we eat it for breakfast.
