Apple Crisp (combined Betty Crocker & Fanny Farmer recipes)

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Crisp, homemade

5 cups apples, peeled and sliced
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oatmeal
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves,
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup butter

Recipe Directions for Apple Crisp, homemade

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Butter a 1 1/2 qt baking dish.

  3. Peel, slice, core apples, spread in baking dish.

  4. Combine the rest of the ingredients. Use pastry cutter (or fingers) to mix til combined in small pea shaped balls, or resembles coarse crumbs.

  5. Spread evenly over the apples.

  6. Bake for about 30 minutes or until the crust is browned.

  7. Test firmness of apples w/ a toothpick. I don't like mine to soft or mushy.

  8. Servie w/ vanilla ice cream, or whipped cream.
