1/3 cup dark brown sugar 1/3 cup oatmeal, quick-cooking 1 1/2 tbsp flour 1 tsp cinnamon 1 1/2 tbsp margarine 1 1/2 cups flour 2 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/2 cup sugar 1 egg white 1/4 cup vegetable oil 3/4 cup skim milk 1 apple, granny smith 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Coffee Cake

1/3 cup dark brown sugar
1/3 cup oatmeal, quick-cooking
1 1/2 tbsp flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tbsp margarine
1 1/2 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg white
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3/4 cup skim milk
1 apple, granny smith
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Recipe Directions for Apple Coffee Cake

  1. Preheat oven 375, lightly spray pan with vegetable oil

  2. Mix together brown sugar, oatmeal, 1 1/2 tbsp flour and 1 tsp cinnamon. Add melted margarine to form crumb topping. Set aside.

  3. In a large bowl, sift together remaining flour, baking powder, 1/2 tsp cinnamon and sugar.

  4. In a medium bowl, combine egg white, oil, milk, apple and vanilla. Mix until well blended. Add to dry ingredients. Stir lightly, just until dry ingredients are moistened. Pour into prepared pan.

  5. Sprinkle topping over cake and bake 30 to 35 minutes.

  6. Remove from oven, cut into 9 squares and serve hot.
