This cobbler sounds like it was put together by the absent minded cook - but it works !

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Cobbler

8 cups apples, peeled and wedged
1/2 cup sugar
4 tbsp flour
1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup butter
1 cup skim milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1 1/2 cups water, boiling

Recipe Directions for Apple Cobbler

  1. Toss apples with the next 5 ingredients and set aside

  2. combine next 4 ingredients, then cut in the butter

  3. stir the milk into the flour mixture

  4. place fruit in 9x13 pan and top with the dough topper

  5. combine remaining sugar and cornstarch and sprinkle over the batter, then pour boiling water over all

  6. bake at 350 F degrees for 45 minutes
