Recipe Ingredients for Apple Cobbler

0.75 cup Wheat Flour, Whole-grain
2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
0.75 cup Milk, Nonfat, Fluid
4 tbsp Unsalted Butter
3 cup slices Apples
2 tsp Cinnamon, Ground
0.13 tsp Cloves, Ground
0.25 tsp Allspice, Ground
0.25 tsp Nutmeg, Ground

Recipe Directions for Apple Cobbler

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 F.

  2. Peel, core, and slice your apples. In this case, I used about 3 cups of apple slices, but you can get away with less apples.

  3. In a 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish, melt 1/4 cup of butter.

  4. Add 3/4 cup of whole wheat flour (an alternative would be 1 cup of all-purpose flour), 2 teaspoons baking powder, 3/4 cup of milk, and 3/4 cup of preferred sweetener. Mix altogether.

  5. Using a spoon or spatula, level the surface of the mixture and bake for ten minutes.

  6. In a bowl, mix the cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, and 1/3 - 2/3 of preferred sweetener. The amount depends on how sweet you want your apples.

  7. Toss your apples in the spice sugar mixture until all the apples are coated.

  8. Take your 8x8 or 9x9 pan out of the oven after ten minutes and sprinkle the apples on top. Bake for another 50 minutes.
