Made for Mother-in-law's birthday

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Cake

3 c apples, sliced
1 c walnuts, chopped
3/4 c oil
3/4 c applesauce
1 egg, beaten
2 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 c dark brown sugar
3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Apple Cake

  1. Pre heat oven to 350.

  2. Core and peel 2 med-large apples. Slice and set aside.

  3. In a med-large bowl mix walnuts, oil, applesauce, egg, vanilla and brown sugar until smooth. (If the brown sugar tends to clump, that's okay.) Stir in apples.

  4. Mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon in a large bowl and stir in apple/oil mixture. Batter will be super thick.

  5. Pour into ungreased cake pan and cook at 350 for 30 min.
