Original Recipe from house beautiful, this is a great, simple and satisfying low carb cake.

Recipe Ingredients for Apple Cake

2 tablespoons wheat germ
1/2 cup splenda
1 granny smith apples
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons butter
1 large egg
1 1/4 cup almond meal
2/3 cup heavy cream

Recipe Directions for Apple Cake

  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. butter a 9 inc spring form pan and coat with pecans

  3. toss together sugar and brown sugar and set aside

  4. peel and core the apple and roughly dice

  5. combine cinnamon and the sugar mixture

  6. in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat together the butter and the sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy about two minutes

  7. add the egg and mix until combined

  8. reduce speed to low and add almond meal and flour and mix until combined.

  9. fold the diced apple into the batter

  10. pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly

  11. bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the center is golden brown
