using whole wheat flour, these are more wholesome than most and yet still delicious

Recipe Ingredients for apple and bacon pancakes

1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 large egg
1 egg white
1/2 cup nonfat buttermilk
1 apple, peeled and finely chopped
25 g bacon, 4 slices cooked and crumbled

Recipe Directions for apple and bacon pancakes

  1. sift dry ingredients

  2. whisk egg

  3. add buttermilk to egg

  4. stir in dry ingredients

  5. fold in bacon and apple, dough will be thick

  6. use 1/4 cup batter per pancake and cook circa 2 minutes each side on skillet
