Made from things I had on hand in the pantry.

Recipe Ingredients for Another Chili Recipe

3/4 pound lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 serrano pepper, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp chili powder
1/2 tbsp ground cumin
1 tsp black pepper
20 oz Ro-Tel Original tomatoes and green chilies
15 oz canned kidney beans, with liquid

Recipe Directions for Another Chili Recipe

  1. Brown the beef, onion, pepper and garlic in the olive oil until meat is well done. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, and black pepper and simmer another 5 minutes.

  2. Add the Ro-Tel tomatoes, bring to a boil, and simmer 10 minutes. Stir in the beans with liquid and simmer very low for about 40 more minutes to allow flavors to blend.

  3. OPTION: you may also stir in 1 packet Sazon Goya with the chili powder and other spices. This really adds an authentic Mexican flavor to the chili. Just be aware that it does contain MSG, in addition to salt, coriander, and annato coloring. You may be able to get a similar flavor with just the coriander (1/2 tsp) and turmeric (1/2 tsp).
