1 lb italian sausage
1 lb ground turkey
1 medium onion
4 cloves garlic
1 T olive oil
29 oz diced tomatoes
12 oz tomato paste
1/4 c dried parsley
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp basil
16 oz part skim ricotta cheese
1/4 c skim milk
4 oz shredded parmesan cheese
228 g Shredded Low Moisture Part Skim Mozzarella Cheese
4 oz lasagna noodles

Recipe Directions for Annie's Lasagna

  1. In skillet, sautee chopped onion. Add sausage, lean ground turkey, and minced garlic. Brown over medium heat.

  2. In a saucepan, combine diced tomatoes, tomato paste, and spices (reserving 1 T parsley and .5 tsp oregano). Add .5 c water to thin, if necessary. Heat on low.

  3. Add tomato mixture to cooked meat.

  4. Cheese mixture: mix ricotta cheese, milk, 2 oz parmesan cheese, .5 tsp oregano, and 1 T parsley.

  5. Lightly grease 9x13 pan. Put a little bit of sauce on the bottom of the pan. Add a layer of noodles (uncooked). Then add half the meat sauce mixture. Add all of the ricotta mixture. Add more lasagna noodles. Then add the other half of meat sauce. Top with mozzarella and other 2 oz of parmesan.

  6. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 40 min. Uncover, and then cook for 20 more minutes. Remove from oven and let stand 15 min.

  7. Serve and enjoy!
