This angel food cake has a very solid yet light texture to it. Delish with marinated strawberries.

Recipe Ingredients for Angel Food Cake - Taste of Home

1.5 cup AllWhites
1 cup Confectioners Sugar
1 cup Gold Medal All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp Leavening Agents, Cream Of Tartar
1.5 tsp Vanilla Extract
0.5 tsp Almond Extract
1 dash Salt, Table
1 cup Sugars, Granulated

Recipe Directions for Angel Food Cake - Taste of Home

  1. Let egg whites stand in bowl at room temp for 30 minutes. Sift confectioners sugar and flour together twice; set aside.

  2. Add cream of tartar, extracts, and salt to egg whites; beat on medium until soft peaks form. Gradually add sugar, about 2 T at a time, beating on high until stiff glossy peaks form and sugar is dissolved. Gradually fold in flour mixture, about 1/2 C at a time.

  3. Gently spoon into an ungreased 10-in. tube pan. Cut through batter with a knife to remove air pockets. Bake on lowest rack at 350 for 35-40 minutes or until lightly browned and entire top appears dry. Immediately invert pan and cool on rack 1 hour.

  4. Run a knife around side and center of pan. Remove cake to a serving plate. Garnish as desired.
