Delicious, traditional pea soup. Great for ham leftovers.

Recipe Ingredients for Amy's Pea Soup

2 cups split peas, green
1 large onion, peeled and chopped
2 celery stalks, chopped
3 large carrot, chopped
10 oz ham
1/4 cup white wine
3 cups low sodium chicken broth
5 cups of water
1 tbl black pepper

Recipe Directions for Amy's Pea Soup

  1. Saute onions, celery, and carrots. Once onions are translusent and semi soft add the split peas and white wine. Simmer for 1-2 minutes. Then add the ham, broth and water. Black pepper to taste.

  2. Allow to cook for 2-3 hours until peas are soft and begin to separate. Serve immediately or refigerate for later.
