Recipe Ingredients for Amish Friendship Bread (not including starter)

1 cup canola oil
1/2 cup skim milk

2 cups flour
1 2/5 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda

Recipe Directions for Amish Friendship Bread (not including starter)

  1. You have to have the starter

  2. Day 1: Do nothing

  3. Day 2-5: Stir with wooden spoon (this is very important. Do not stir with any metal; it will mess up the yeast reaction of the starter)

  4. Day 6: Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Stir with wooden spoon.(You may need to move the starter into a larger bowl)

  5. Day 7-9: stir witha wooden spoon

  6. Day 10: Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Stir. Take out 3 cups and place 1 cup each into three seperate plastic containers. Give one cup and a copy of this recipe to three freinds. To the balance (a little over one cup) of the batter, add the oil, .5 c milk, eggs and vanilla.

  7. In a seperate bowl compine the following dry ingredients and mix well. 2 c flour, 1 c sugar, 1.5 tsp baking powder, 2 tsp cinnamon, .5 tsp baking soda, 1 (5.1oz) box instant vanilla pudding, .5 tsp salt and 1 cup nuts
