Recipe Ingredients for american biscuits

1 1/3 cup of flour
2/3 cup soy flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp margarine
3/4 cup soymilk

Recipe Directions for american biscuits

  1. preheat oven to 450 degrees

  2. put all ingredients, except soy milk, into a bowl. using a pastry cutter or fork, blend the margarine into the dry ingredients until the mixture breaks down into fine particles.

  3. add the soy milk and stir until the particles cling together.

  4. turn the dough onto a floured bread board or counter top and knead for about 1 to 2 minutes or until the dough is smooth. add more flour as needed if the dough is sticky.

  5. roll the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness. cut into rounds and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  6. bake for 10 to 12 minutes. they will plump up some and turn light gold. they will be done when the bottoms are light brown. keep an eye on them as they cook.

  7. serve hot
