Almond Scones made with some almond meal and flax meal. Not completely healthy though.

Recipe Ingredients for Almond Scones

1 1/2 c flour
1/2 c almond meal
2 t cream of tartar
1 t baking soda
0.38 t salt
0.34 c sugar
0.38 t Salt Substitute
1/2 c shortening
1 egg
2 T flax meal
1/8 t baking powder
2 T water
1/2 t almond extract
1/4 c AllWhites
60 g .25c 100% Lactose Free Fat Free Calcium Fortified Milk

Recipe Directions for Almond Scones

  1. Mix dry ingredients

  2. Cut in shortening until crumbly

  3. Soak flax meal in water

  4. Lightly stir egg into flax meal mixture

  5. Add almond extract to milk and eggs

  6. Mix into dry ingredients.

  7. Pat to about 1/2 inch thick

  8. Cut into 16 pieces or half it for a smaller portion

  9. Bake at 400dF for about 15 min.
