Homemade grandola squares (From Louise Gittleman's "Get the Sugar Out" #280)

Recipe Ingredients for Almond-Oat squares

1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup almonds, chopped
1/4 cup flaxseeds, ground
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
2/3 cup applesauce
2/3 cup almond butter

Recipe Directions for Almond-Oat squares

  1. Combine dry ingredients. Combine almond butter and applesauce. Mix together & press into 11x7" baking dish. Bake at 300 degrees for about 35 minutes. Score with a knife shile warm, then cut into square or bar shapers when cool.

  2. Variation: Use chopped peanuts and peanut butter or chopped cashews and cashew butter instead.
