Why spend an insane amount of money on nut butter when you can make your own? All you need is your prefarable nuts and a good quality food processor or vita mix. Makes about 33 x 1 tablespoon servings (at 15g each)

Recipe Ingredients for Almond Butter

500 grams Almonds
4/5 tsp Salt, Table
1/4 packets Sweetener Calorie-Free

Recipe Directions for Almond Butter

  1. Place almonds and salt in food processor.

  2. Process for 8-12 minutes or until reached a smooth consistency. You will need to scrape down the sides in the beginning.

  3. Only after almond butter is completely done you mad add sweetener of your choice (1 3/4 tbsp honey or equal amount of no-calorie liquid sweetener will work). Note that it is optional whether you want to add salt and sweetener. Also it is important that you don't add sweetener until the very end as it will seize the mixture if you try to add it before.

  4. The Almond butter can be kept at room temperature for about 30 days. For longer time, store it in refrigerator to prevent almond butter to become rancid
