Really nice end to a good healthy meal.

Recipe Ingredients for Almond Bicsotti

1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup splenda
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1 cup slivered almonds
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla, or almond extract

Recipe Directions for Almond Bicsotti

  1. In a large bowl combine flour, splenda, baking powder, salt, and almonds.

  2. In a separate bowl stir the eggs and vanilla or almond extract.

  3. Pour the egg mixture into the dry ingredients and mix well with your hands.

  4. The dough will be crumbly.

  5. Knead about7 or 8 times.

  6. Divide dough in half.

  7. Shape each piece of dough into a 6" log.

  8. Place the logs on a sprayed baking sheet.

  9. bake at 375 for about 25-27 minutes or until browned.

  10. Cool completely on a baking rack.

  11. Cut each log into 12 pieces.
