Recipe Ingredients for All-purpose tomato beef goulash

250 grams Beef, Ground, 95% Lean Meat / 5% Fat, Patty
240 grams Peeled Tomatoes

3 medium (approx 2-3/4" long, 2-1/2" dia) Peppers, Sweet, Red
4 clove Garlic
2 tablespoon Rosemary
3 tbsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
1 jigger 1.5 fl oz Gin, Rum, Vodka, Whiskey
2 medium whole (2-3/5" dia) Tomatoes, Red, Ripe
30 grams Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Recipe Directions for All-purpose tomato beef goulash

  1. Cook up 2 beef patties in a sauce pan

  2. Add 2 cans of peeled tomatoes and 1 can red bell peppers.

  3. Grab a fork and smush the tomatoes. Not too much. The dish is supposed to be chunky.

  4. Peel and roughly chop 4 large garlic cloves.

  5. Add rosemary, salt&pepper, and some garlic powder if desired

  6. Add 4 bay leaves (they can cause tummy trouble in some people, so I keep them whole and remove them before serving - all the flavor, less calories).

  7. Splash on some whisky (you can also use port, sherry or red wine)

  8. Cook on medium to reduce for at least 20 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so.

  9. Chop up 2 fresh tomatoes, emptying the insides and add for 2 minutes. This trick adds different textures and a fresher garden-picked taste.

  10. Before serving mix in 2 tablespoons olive oil.

  12. (Tip: If you taste and it's a bit acidic, which often happens with these ingredients, the trick is to add something sweet or baking soda. You can use carrots, or a pinch of sugar for example)
