Buttery crusts are flaky and delicious. This one is (slightly) more healthful.

Recipe Ingredients for All-Butter Pie Crust (made with margarine)

1/2 cup earth balance natural buttery spread
1 cup flour
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp ice water

Recipe Directions for All-Butter Pie Crust (made with margarine)

  1. Cut margarine into 1/2 inch pads and freeze for 15min-1hr.

  2. Mix together the flour, sugar and salt.

  3. Using two knives, cut the margarine into the flour until it resembles a course meal. (There should be no balls much larger than a pea.)

  4. Form the mixture into a ball.

  5. Refrigerate for 1hr-2 days.

  6. Roll out between two pieces of waxed paper.

  7. Fit the dough into your pie tin.
