Recipe Ingredients for Alices Light Macaroni & Cheese

2 cup Macaroni
1/2 cup 2% Cheese
3 tbsp butter
3 tbsp Flour
10 1/2 cup Milk (fat free)
10 1/2 cup 2% Cheese

Recipe Directions for Alices Light Macaroni & Cheese

  1. Boil the macaroni thill it is done. It should still hold it's shape, don't over cook it. Strain it and pour into a cassarol dish and sprinkle the first 1/2 Cup of cheese & stir it into the macaroni so it is all through the macaroni.

  2. Make a sauce: melt the butter over med low heat, then stir in the flour. Add 1/2 the milk and stir till smooth. Add the cheese till it is melted, then add the reat of the milk.

  3. It should start to thicken up but don't let it get too thick because you want it to finish thickening in the oven.

  4. Pour the sauce over the macaroni. Loosen the edges and let the sauce mix with the macaroni. Use a wooden spoon so you don't cut the macaroni while stiring.

  5. Bake at 350 till it boils and all the cheese is melted. 15 to 20 min.
