made of rice & lentils, south indian, vegetarian

Recipe Ingredients for adai

50 g RAW rice
50 g boil in bag rice
50 g split chickpeas
50 g bulgur wheat
50 g lentils
50 g pigeon peas
50 g black lentils
2 tsp chilli powder
200 ml water
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp sesame oil

Recipe Directions for adai

  1. soak rice for 2 hours and lentils for 3-4 hours

  2. coarsely grind rice and lentils separately

  3. mix the ground rice & lentils along with salt & chilli powder

  4. Leave the batter aside for 1-2 hours

  5. Heat Tawa on medium flame and spread a ladle of the batter on the tawa adding a little oil to the sides

  6. wait for a minute and turn the adai so that the other side too gets cooked.

  7. remove from heat and serve hot
