Granola recipe adapted from Alton Brown's recipe. Go to the Food Network site for the original recipe. You can substitute any nuts or dried fruit you'd like into this recipe, and you can use any combination of maple syrup and honey you'd like.

Recipe Ingredients for AB's Granola

3 1/2 cups rolled oats
3/8 cup dark brown sugar, lightly packed
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup almonds, sliced
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/8 cup honey
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 1/2 cup dried cranberries

Recipe Directions for AB's Granola

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 F.

  2. In a large bowl, mix the oats, brown sugar, salt, and almonds.

  3. Whisk the liquids together in a separate bowl.

  4. Pour the liquid over the oat mixture and stir well to combine.

  5. Spread the mixture over a half-sheet pan. Bake 75 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.

  6. Allow to cool completely. Mix in dried cranberries. Store in an airtight container 1-2 weeks.
