Traditional Indian flatbread made with 50% soy flour

Recipe Ingredients for 50% Soy Flour Chapatti

1 c Whole wheat flour
1 c soy flour
2 T Canola oil
1/8 t Salt
1 c warm water

Recipe Directions for 50% Soy Flour Chapatti

  1. Combine wheat flour, soy flour, salt and oil in a large shallow bowl.

  2. Gradually add warm water to make a firm and elastic dough.

  3. Cover dough and keep aside for 15 minutes.

  4. Divide dough into 6 balls and roll as flat as possible with a rolling pin.

  5. Heat a large flat skillet over medium heat.

  6. Cook the chappati on both sides until golden brown, about 1 minute per side.

  7. If desired sprinkle some melted ghee over the top before serving.
