This version reduces some of the fat from the traditional version. Serve with your favorite tortilla or corn chips. Also good as a vegie dip.

Recipe Ingredients for 5-Layer Mexican Dip (Reduced fat version)

2/3 cup salsa
1/3 diced tomatoes
4 tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro
8 oz. fat-free refried beans
1/2 cup light sour cream
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions

Recipe Directions for 5-Layer Mexican Dip (Reduced fat version)

  1. Spread refried beans in a 9-inch pie pan.

  2. Layer sour cream on top of the beans.

  3. In a small bowl, combine salsa, tomatoes, and cilantro.

  4. Spoon mixture over sour cream.

  5. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and garnish with sliced green onion (use green tops only).
