Use Old Wessex 5 Grain Cereal instead of regular oatmeal -- this recipe comes from the box. Calorie count from oatmeal approx equal.

Recipe Ingredients for 5 Grain Cookies

3 cups uncooked oatmeal
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
4 tbsp egg whites
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for 5 Grain Cookies

  1. Heat oven to 375F

  2. Lightly coat cookie sheet with vegetable oil

  3. Combine dry ingredients, mix well

  4. Mix honey, butter, and vanilla until smooth, add egg

  5. Blend in dry ingredients, mixing thoroughly

  6. Stir in dried fruit and nuts

  7. Place rounded spoonfuls onto cookie sheet (makes approx 50 cookies)

  8. Bake approx 10 minutes

  9. Cool

  10. Enjoy
