beef round steak, onions, garlic, all- purpose flour, dried thyme, salt, black pepper, sweet paprika, canned crushed tomatoes, sour cream cvt

Recipe Ingredients for 3 Hungarian Goulash

1 1/2 pounds cooked beef steak, net from 2 lbs. raw beef round steak, cut into half-inch cubes
1 medium-sized onions, chopped
1 1/2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 pinch dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 tablespoon sweet paprika
14 oz. crushed tomatoes
1 cup sour cream

Recipe Directions for 3 Hungarian Goulash

Put beef, onion and garlic in a 4-quart (or smaller?) slow cooker. Add flour and stir to coat steak cubes, then add thyme, salt, pepper, paprika and tomatoes and stir again to blend well. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours. Half an hour before serving, stir in sour cream. (Adding the sour cream earlier will denature its proteins to stringy clumps, thus changing the goulash?s velvety texture.) Serve over wide egg noodles.
