The rise time is long...but it is SOOOO worth the wait! Wonderful with soups and stews!

Recipe Ingredients for 20 Hour Bread

3 cups bread flour
1 1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp yeast
1 1/3 cups water

Recipe Directions for 20 Hour Bread

  1. Mix all ingredients together in bowl

  2. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise 18 hours

  3. Pull out of bowl onto heavily floured tea towel. Shape into a round. Cover with towel and let rise for 2 more hours.

  4. Heat a covered cast iron dutch oven at 475 degrees for 30 minutes.

  5. Take out of oven. Put dough in and cover. Bake for 30 minutes covered. Take lid off and bake for another 15-20 minutes

  6. Slice and enjoy!
