Recipe Ingredients for 16 bean soup with carrots and ham

454 g dried beans
794 g canned tomatoes
283 g tomatoes and green chilies - diced
1 cup carrots - diced
1 tbsp parsley
1 medium onion - diced
4 cloves garlic - diced
1 tbsp chili pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1 tbsp black pepper
1/2 cup green pepper - diced
1/2 cup red pepper - diced
1 cup yellow sweet pepper - diced
24 oz ham - diced
2 stalks celery
80 oz water

Recipe Directions for 16 bean soup with carrots and ham

  1. Soak and drain beans

  2. In a large sauce pan, combine beans, parsley, carrots, cereley,salt, and water

  3. Bring to boil, let boil for 20 minutes

  4. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1/2 hour

  5. Add tomatoes and spices to beans

  6. In a large frying pan, cook peppers, onions, and garlic in olive oil until soft

  7. Add to beans

  8. Cover and simmer for another 1/2 hour

  9. Dice ham

  10. Add to beans

  11. Cover and simmer for another 1/2 hour

  12. Serve
