Recipe Ingredients for 1574 Tart Filling: Roasted Onions

4 onions, sliced thinly
2 tbs. olive oil
1 c. cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. cream
1/2 tsp. thyme
4 cloves garlic, roasted
1 salt
1 pepper

Recipe Directions for 1574 Tart Filling: Roasted Onions

  1. Foil lined baking sheet brushed with 1/2 of the olive oil. Place thinly sliced onions on sheet and drizzle with rest of the olive oil. Salt and pepper to taste. Roast at 400 degrees for about 30-40 minutes or until soft but not caramalized. Set aside to cool.

  2. In the tart shell, place the onions and top with cheese. Pour a mixture of the egg and cream over the top. Sprinkle fresh thyme leaves and the roasted garlic all around.

  3. Bake 375 degrees for about 30-40 minutes or until bubbly.
