A great, healthy main dish. I use Walmart's salsa, tomato paste and diced tomatos because they do not add any extra sodium to them, so that keeps this dish pretty low in sodium in comparison to using the seasoning packet. :) I will make the entire bag, then freeze half of the recipe for a later date.

Recipe Ingredients for 15 bean soup

560 g 15 bean soup (1 bag)
15 ounces (1 can) diced tomatoes (low sodium)
8 oz tomato paste
1 large onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, diced
170 g salsa (about 1/4 cup)
1 tbsp basil (dried)
14 g Table Blend Salt Free Seasoning Blend (2 tbsp)

Recipe Directions for 15 bean soup

  1. Rinse the dried beans, place them in a pot of water and soak them overnight. (For a quick soak, bring them to a boil then remove from heat and let them sit an hour, but overnight soaking is preferred.)

  2. Then drain and rinse the beans. I put them in a slow cooker along with all the other ingredients, fill the cooker with water, you should have about an inch or so free space once the beans and other ingredients settle (the beans will expand a bit).

  3. Cook on low heat until beans are done (about 8 hours).
