Claire, the crap sure hit the fan, sorry hon♥ I hope walking and meditating help you and that you can break all those stressors into tiny bite-sized pieces. I just thought of you cutting up your lazy coworkers into tiny pieces. That's totally not what I meant ;) Sorry you didn't get the job you wanted. The right one is out there!

Soraya, yoga is great. Today was restorative and started with rolling on tennis balls - felt so good. Today my salad was $9 - I'm trying to keep it right around there or less. Save money, and calories. Great job with your goals, you're doing awesome. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR INTERVIEWS!

It's just a theoretical question.

However I am struggling to lose weight at the moment.

I can lose around 3 lbs over the week but when the weekend comes I tend to put it all back on, even if I stick to my 1600 calories over the weekend.

On the weekend I do eat crap food like Doritos, Pringles and other snacks but I don't go over my calories.

There is no way I'm eating enough to gain 3 lbs in weight.

I think a) my body is able to convert 60g of Doritos into 1 lbs of fat, or b) the salty snacks are causing me to retain water.

I vote b.

Soraya, Ugh, not only is her "advice" entirely false, but what in the world is the point of being a beyotch about it? Sorry you had to sit through that. You have a great plan there, and don't forget about the benefits of a rest day. I think 5-6 days per week is plenty :) Good idea to start slowly too. Don't overdo it. SO GLAD to hear you're getting responses to jobs already. You got this, you got all of this!

Yesterday I ate a hard boiled egg and black coffee for breakfast, a medium salad for lunch (not the $13 behemoths I sometimes get, but a nice $7 lunch size), and dinner was pasta with broccoli, cheese, butter and a beer. I'm working on it :) Yoga yesterday. Yoga today. Had a plain latte for breakfast and planning another reasonable sized salad for lunch. Oh, I think I got about 6 cups of water yesterday.

Is this a theoretical question, or a diet plan?

I assumed the former :) The OP has lost over 100 pounds in the past.

Weight is now around 109 lbs. I have been eating what I thought was 800 surplus but gaining slower than expected. My lifts have gone up good. To make weight for an event I have 3 weeks to gain 6-9 pounds (need to be 115-118 for my weight range for the competition). To gain this, I'm going to add another 500 to 800 calories a day on top of my already surplus. This will get me to around a 1500 daily surplus which should help gain 3 pounds a week each week for the next 3 weeks. Remember, I'm tall and very skinny so nine pounds won't make me look fat.

At a BMI of 17 I don't think anyone is worrying about that. Good luck with the gaining.

heh, yes. I'd recommend dipping them in cottage cheese, because I love Doritos dipped in cottage cheese and you know, protein.

Soraya ♥ sorry your stress is manifesting in your eye. As great as that job was at the time when you needed it, I'm glad you're out of an environment that didn't seem to value you. The next great thing is on the horizon. Thinking of you and wishing you so much peace and healing and love, my dear ♥

I've been getting to yoga but that's about it in terms of "exercise". Haven't been eating very consciously or weighing either. I think hubs and I are both on board to start eating a little better. I'm going to start with eating just less, and with thoughtfulness.

So I woman I know marginally, a friend of a friend situation, is my fb friend because she sells stuff.  Basically, I've met her about 3 or 4 times but I only know her through FB.

Her father was fighting cancer and about a year ago they decided to stop chemo.  I have no idea if that was medically advised or anything else.  I suspect not, judging only by the condition he appeared to be in at the time, but I honestly don't know sh** about any of their situation beyond what she's chosen to post.

Here's why I'm mentioning it.  When he quit chemo, they started seeing a dietitian that put them all on alkali diets with no sodium, gluten, sugar, etc etc etc.  About as woo as it comes.  And they all started seeing a naturopath that had them on meyers iv's, essential oils, supplements, that sort of thing.  There's been other things in the last year, but those 'experts' were mentioned pretty consistently.

He died this morning.

And I feel so incredibly judgey about it.  I try to be a very empathetic person and every gets to choose their own path but I can't even feel bad, and I do feel bad about that.

The thing you have to remember about this is that the only person you're upsetting here is yourself.

Presumably the father had a hand in the decisions made and was ok with it. I don't agree with what they did, but it is their choice and you have to step away and be sympathetic for her loss, but just let go of the rest.

Believe me I've seen many people make choices to not have chemo, or to pursue chemo that I did not agree with and in the end all you can do is take your feelings about their choice out of the mix.

QFT.

I can't even thread a needle. I don't think knitting is in my future.

Hello, all.

I don't think you have to thread knitting needles.

Heh :)

Hi Jenn, have a great time! You've got all the time in the world to eat healthy and get back on track :) It's a marathon, not a sprint.

I think lots of people like to sprint towards a vacation or an event - I know I do it. Although right now I ain't sprinting anywhere, just being a couch potato and eating poorly :( Haven't weighed in a while, still too scared.

I love this thread. I watch the Walking Dead and Talking Dead, then I come here to see what TV, Runey, and CW say it all means :)

Jenn, yeah you deserve a warm weather vacation, that stupid cold.

Claire, one long crazy week down, 2 to go! I'm impressed by your walk/jog/run when you really didn't wanna. I spent the weekend doing about nothing productive and eating like crap. Made it to yoga today, though, and eating a salad for lunch. Continued good luck with crazy neighbor.

Is It Possible to Go Natural?
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
