Why would I gain 4 pounds in one month?

I am 14 years old and I don't work out, which I know I should, but how could I have gained weight without even changing eating habits? Is that possible? What happened?
A 4 pound weight gain in 4 weeks without a change in intake could be due to water retention, which may easily happen in hot and humid weather. It is also possible that you added a few higher calorie foods to your diet without increasing volume of food you eat or you could have eaten more without realizing it. At age 14, you could be eating to fuel a growth spurt or in response to boredom while hanging around during the summer. To be aware of your intake, log your foods and see which foods contribute the most calories. Make substitutions to make your diet more nutritious, but don’t diet aggressively without a doctor’s oversight because your are still growing. Learn the basics of a balanced diet at MyPyramid.gov.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
