I used to have hyperthyroidism. In the past eight or nine months, tests my doctor has done have shown that my thyroid is now behaving normally. However, I have been looking into taking "Thyroid Complete" by Whole Foods. When I look up individual ingredients, the information I find says that it helps maintain thyroid health. I was wondering if anyone has trying this supplement, or something like it, and if anyone has opinions on it. Here is a list of ingredients...
As your thyroid is behaving as it should, I'd really recommend trying to get the above list from food sources rather than a supplement.
Unless things are seriously out of whack, the body is best suited to extracting minerals, enzymes and vitamins from whole foods.
There's a well known joke that Americans have the most expensive urine in the world precisely because 90% of the synthetic supplements they take are unabsorbed and simply eradicated from the body through the kidneys and bladder.
Furthermore, as someone who has suffered from hyperthyroidism, your thyroid became over-active, not under-active, and most supplements are designed to support hypothyroidism. And as we already know, your thyroid is now functioning normally in any case.
Best of luck
I'm kind of curious to see what your doctor might say about it. My mother had the same problems and she's been taking a bunch of herbal supplements, but I haven't had a chance to ask her if they are anything like what you described above. Have you asked your doctor yet?
Probably best to start with herbal remedies, but you will need to see a doctor and get levels checked.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
