# Biggest loser Season 12 challenge group!!

So the new season of biggest loser is upon us, ababehschick had an awesome Idea, Lets try a challenge following the biggest loser. It works like this

Find your age group and follow their team percentages for the week. since trying to keep up with their percentages would be crazy, shoot for 1/4 of their team percentages.

Example: I am 27, therefore i'm in the young group, so their percentage was 4.31 divided by 4 thats 1.01% for the week!

Some weeks will be more, and some will be less :)

Blue-  your goal this week is 0.67%
Red- Your goal this week is 0.63 %
Black- you have two options
&nb sp;  whole team- your goal is .72%
or
&nb sp;   Sunny's %, your goal will be 1.45% (this option because sunny rocked it and saved the whole team and only her weigh in counted.)

Mmmm...  Must be paying for the big loss last week this week.  Also introduced SOME salts and sugars back into my diet (not whole-hog, just not watching it quite as closely AND splurged big time on Friday).  At least I didn't gain it all back!  Looking forward to a lower number next week.

Was hoping for more, but a loss is a loss and it's the lowest I've RECORDED in quite a few years, so I'll take it!

Okay, this week Conda and Daphne were taken off the ranch to work at home 1 on 1 with their trainers.  As such, theirs is the only weight loss that counted at the weigh in.  Conda had a 2 pound advantage at weigh in, but I pull those out of my math because I don't believe we should hold ourselves to numbers that don't reflect ACTUAL weight lost.  I have also done the math for both the individuals who counted AND the whole team - depending on what number you choose to try to meet AND have still divided by 1/4 regardless of whether it was individual or team because, again, we are all also living our lives and not able to devote all of our waking time (or the vast majority of it) to working out and pursuing out weigh loss.  If that were the case we probably would have all reached out goals long ago!

So here they are:

Conda #s:    Lbs Lost - 8     % Lost - 3.14%    1/4 of % - .79%

SUPER drama this week...  The end result being that the black team threw the weigh in on purpose (though obviously NOT having planned to beef it QUITE so bad) and their numbers were horrible - minor losses and 2 people gained.  The TOTAL percentage lost by the team was .75% - so I would suggest NOT using the black team's dismal showing as a guide this week (if anyone but me is still here...  I keep posting because it at least holds me accountable to me LOL).

I have pretty  much been non active for the past few weeks... I am not even sure why... I just really didn't care... and it wasn't because I was stressed or depressed, i just really don't know... I didn't... oh well... I am back today...  yesterday I weighed in at  159.6.  not too bad for eating and drinking what i wanted...

amielee:  No worries!  I just noticed when I posted today that my shoe was there three times in a row....  I wasn't sure if I was 'talking' to myself, but I'm glad to see you back!  Not too shabby at all for eating whatever.

AND I totally get why you would opt to take a break.  It can get tedious.  And I find when my progress gets slow I don't so much get upset (because I may very well still be losing) I just lose interest in logging or keeping track of any of the weight stuff.  I am trying for a longer streak and hoping to see the 150's by March (fingers croseed)!

Everyone got to go home for 18 days and then come back for the last chance workout and weigh-in.  Some did well, oothers not so much - but they got an idea of what it woudl be like to have to balance life and loss rather than just being able to focus on loss AND what a tough thing it is!  Sadly, Chism went home to the dismay and tears of every person in the house regardless of team color.

That being said, I am allowing myself an alternate goal because the numbers put up by the teams reflect over 2 weeks of loss - rather than one (which is still not quite accurate since it was more like 2 1/2 weeks at home, but the math is easier at 2 and that just means if I don't meet even the alternate I won't beat myself up too bad).

If you are following the black team, your goal and alternate goal are as follows:

Goal:  1.44% (1/4 of the black team's total percent of 5.76%)

ALTERNATE Goal:  .72%  (1/4 of 1/2 of the black team's total percent)

3rd ALTERNATE:  .44% (1/4 of the red teams total percent) or .7 lbs

I listed all four options because - while the teams stayed the same, the trainers moved.  So if you were, say, making your choice based on TRAINER, you would follow a different team's percentage this week, but if you are TEAM loyal, you can stick with that percentage.  I figure if I lose between .5 and 2.8 pounds I ma at least meeting SOMETHING! LOL

Also, I believe teams will be elimintaed next week altogether, so we will re-vamp how we figure our percentage goals.  I'll let you know more about that next week, but I think the way we did it last time worked well.

Okay, so this week we lost the teams and are on to individual competition.  Last round, the initial thought was to take an average of everyone on the showand then set that as the goal.  The flaw we discovered is that is still trying to meet the weight-loss percentages of people who are spending their time dedicated to working out FULL TIME - something none of us, or them, can do in real life.  So what we did last season was take the average of the total percentage lost and then continue to divide by four - which is what I have done above...  Otherwise, my goal this week would be 5.1 pounds lost and I think we can all agree that is ridiculous.

SO - all that said - I am hoping to actually MEET my goal percentage this week 'cause goodness knows I am due!  I think I can do it, though, because I spent the weekend in the 150's despite bad eating habits and TTOTM came early this week so hopefully by next week the extra weight from that should be gone too.

For next week, the goal is 1.3lbs.  Lets see how this week will go.  I have new motivation because I received a bridesmaids dress for the end of May.  It is a little tight, and I know it will look better if I can drop around 10lbs...  So, Lets see what I can do...

GRRRRR!!!  Obviously NOT AT ALL what I wanted to do this week.  I don't feel like I earned this gain - I may not have been a saint since last week, but I haven't been THAT awful either!  Really crabby about it today and really discouraged.  I am not trying make excuses but I am SINCERELY hoping that this has o do with hormones and possibly working extra hard with weights, thus bloating and gaining lots of muscle.  I started using 10 lb dumbells and, this is where it gets complicated, my PILLS say it should be that time of the month, but it came early last week - so not sure if that is screwing with my weight the last couple of weeks or not...  At minimum I woudl like to be down 2 lbs so I could be in the 150's consistently!!  (Especially since my goal was almost to the 130's by now.)

SO - all that said - I have a couple of options for goals: If I base this week on making NOT gaining (so using last weeks weight) AND figure for this week's percentages, my goals would be 2.4 or 2.8 lbs.  HOWEVER, if I figure for making up the mount it would be to meet my goals from last week and THEN have set the goal according percentages, my goals would be 3.7 or 4.0 lbs.  Now I know these are not necessarily possible, but I am hoping that they happen anyway... Maybe if my body regulates back out and I lose the bloat and I keep working out hard, it'll work!  (I guess eventually it will, but damn it!  I have been losing these same pounds for THREE WEEKS and am now almost back to the weight I was A MONTH AGO!!!  Ugh!

(It doesn't help that my allergies are so bad I sound like a frog and can't wear my contacts, but have worked abs so hard it hurts to cough and have a migraine today...  Blech...)

Betsyt - I am right there with you on gaining and losing the SAME weight... Only I have been doing it for months.  I have not been working as hard as you on it, so I can't feel too bad about it, but do know that I am pretty sure that it is not a real weight.  If you have been eating well and exercising, then don't worry about the fluctuation.  Last week on Friday, I was 156.8, and by Tuesday I was up to 160.8.  This was a SHOCKING number for me, but I did start TOM, so I know that a lot of it has to do with water weight.  My rings even fit tighter.  Just don't give up...  Look at where you have come from...  From the start of this challenge you are still down 8lbs.  That is around 5% so great job!!!

3/14 - 157.8

3/20 - 160.8 - Water Weight.  I have lost over 2.5lbs since yesterday.

Goal for next week - .8lbs...  I CAN DO IT!!!

For next week, the goal is 1.3lbs

1hottmom2:  Sorry I didn't get back to you earlier!  I am not always on here all the time - especially with my laptop at home acting up.

Basically, we keep up with the stats from The Biggest Loser and try to have our own little "contest" by keeping up with their weight-loss.  We try to keep it realistic by accepting that we don't have the time to dedicate to the cause like they do, so the goal is usually a team or group average of all contestants divided by 4.  If you want to take a look at my previous postings, you can see kind of how I am keeping up with my goals.

It's easy to join at any time, since we set goals weekly, so just jump on in!  We would be glad to have you!

Goal - .933lbs or I will round up to 1lb

I started a work out video last night and I am hoping it will be a help to keep my calorie intake in order.  I feel that if I am working out, I will want to eat better to not waste all the calories that I burned.  We will see...

Okay.  Trying not to beat myself up too much...  With no classes meeting at all last week and TOM coming up within the week, I am trying to keep a level head.  I also steadily moved up the scale last week from 156.8 on Tuesday to 159.6 this Monday - so at least I'm moving BACK in the right direction!

Next week's goal: .50% (average of % loss of ALL players divided by 6) or .79 lbs

Alternate goal:   1.59 lbs (the regular goal PLUS the .8 lbs gained this week)
