I know this has been a topic most likely a few times before. But I just dont see any answers. I have been working out 3 times a week about an hour and a half. I started about a month ago. I am 161 right now and have been that pretty much for a few months now. I started the weight lose awhile ago at 175 but wasnt really working out like I am now. I usually start off with the elpitcul (ok so not spelled right) then we do weight training, Mon arms, Wed back, and Fri Legs. Then we walk sorta jog the track for thirty mins. And the werid thing is I feel as if i am getting bigger..... my clothing is not looser but tighter. On top of the exercie I am also watching what I eat getting from any giving day 1200 to 1500 cals. Anyone know why things seem tighter on me? Just dont get it?
Thank you for the info!!!!
I find that when my weight loss leveled off, what got me dropping the pounds again was to mix up my workout routine. Your body will become accustomed to the same workout day after day, week after week, so give your body a little 'shock' and mix it up!
Since weight loss is about burning more calories than you consume, try upping the cardio component to your routine. Personally I do a lot more cardio than weight training. Running or walking is great for the legs, swimming is a great all-around workout. I use weight training as a supplement to make sure that I'm losing fat, not muscle, and for general strengthening.
As you gain more muscle through weight training, you may see an increase in weight due to muscles weighing twice as much as fat. That wouldn't explain the tighter clothes though.
Diet is also something to consider. I'm not calling you a liar, but often people forget the little snacks and drinks that can really add on the calories. If that's not the case, perhaps you're eating foods that are higher in sodium, or foods that cause you to retain water.
Last thing I can think of: Are your clothes shrinking?
Good luck, and don't give up!
Maybe you're retaining some water?
Right now, I lift weights sporadically. But when I start a set weightlifting regimen, that very week my muscles look bigger and my clothing is tighter - even though I know I can't have gained anything significant in that time. I figure that I just retain some good ole H2O.
Edit: stupid me forgot to add - if you're retaining water, it'll go away eventually. I'm not sure how long it takes, but it'll happen.
Muscle weighs more then fat but then muscle burns more calories hang in there. I go to 24hr fitness and I have a personal trainer doesn't cost alot they have alot of specials. I go to the gym 3X a week and I can see and feel the difference after four weeks. I think doing the right exercises and doing them properly is important. I like have a variety of exercises to do because I get bored easily.
Thank you all for the info!
I will just keep it up and eventually lol things will change. I like how i feel just didnt really understand the whole tight clothing stuff. But all in the input is great.
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
