i am trying to decide if I should just rest or go and see a doctor. I was doing leg press and I made a mistake by increasing the weight way too much . when I was lowering the sled and flexing my knees, i went too low. I felt pain in my right side and I think I pulled one of my abs muscles( obliques) It hurts when I laugh.
should I wait and just put ice? can I do light cardio? I hate it when I try to motivate myself to go to the gym and then get injured.
You can't do much when you pull an ab muscle but take it easy. You could still exercise a little but only doing things where there is no strain on it. Maybe a stationary bike or something. Perhaps some walking.
I know how you feel. It seems every time I start making progress I hurt myself or get sick. Right now I've been sick for a week.

I am still in pain. It has been like 3 days. how long does it take for a pulled muscle to heal ? does anyone have any ideas? it is really frustrating.
Ab muscles are some of the worst. They take time. More time than usual because they are used in so many movements they cannot get complete rest. You can try some motrin and maybe some ice. It may take 2 weeks before you don't notice the strain.
I just need to know how would I know if the pain is from a pulled muscle or it is a rib injury ? I will wait a few more days then I guess I will have to get an x ray. Too bad as I wanted to start going the gym this month
