What is considered skinny, average & thick for calves & thighs in women?
Is it more of a proportion issue?
FYI, I'm 5'7.5 at 122 lbs, US size 2 or 4, with a 33" pant inseam, 19.5" thighs & 13" calves. I've always considered my legs on the slender side, but in proportion to my body they don't look skinny. Someone recently said I had thicker legs, which surprised me. I wondered if my self-perception was skewed; but then, this person is a long-distance runner, so maybe their perception is skewed. So now I want to know what is considered typical for women.
If you'd like, please list your height, weight, clothing size & calf & thigh sizes. I'm curious to see what is typical.
You sound slender to me.
I am 5'6 138 lbs UK size 12or 14 19.5 inch thigh and 13.5 inch calves.
I have quite slender legs
I love having big, muscular calves and quads. How else am I supposed to run?
^^^^^What she said!^^^^^^
I agree I am not a runner but I play badminton and love to Zumba. I think it is also a genetic thing. My sister and my daughter are both about the same height weight and thigh size but have larger calves. This is the way my legs are.
I would urge you to not mentally chop your body up, like cuts of meat on a cow. That way madness lies. You deserve better than this.
I have skinny bird calves and bigger thighs.
My thighs are 20" and my calves are 12". I'm 5'4" and 110ish lbs. I wear a size 4-6.
I'm 1,70cm (5'7) and weigh 53kg (117lbs)
My thighs are 19.5' and my calves are 13'. I consider them to be on the thick side.
Mine are 28.5'... there do you feel better?
13 foot calves! That is pretty thick.
I'm 5'6" and my thighs are really thick- but they are also muscular but there is some fat to be lost yet and my thighs and butt usually the last to lose it - currently thighs are 22- 23"- calves I don't know never measured them.
5'7" about 125lb - 21 inch thighs, 15 inch calves measured around the thickest part, and I don't know squat about US sizes. Muscle mass will make legs thicker but will also give them a certain shape or curvature that is absent in people that don't work out.
Just from this, I'm getting the impression my legs are slim-to-average for women of my height/size. FYI, I don't have a problem with thick legs, I was just interested in comparing my self-perception to real numbers.
Now I think the other person's perception was skewed.
Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming.
I do have muscle definition in my thighs and don't have near the "rubbing together" issue I used to have when I wasn't lifting weights.
Height: 5' 3" Weight: 115 lbs Clothing size: 4
My thighs are 19.5, my calves are 13, I consider my legs to be pretty thick but I like them (for the most part).
you know...a while ago there was some serious interest in calf sizes...multiple posts in fact...perhaps I'm a little hypoglycemic, but I'm suspicious...
^I don't follow you (?).... I admit I didn't do a forum search, so if it's repetitive topic, then I apologize.
We had a troll here a little while back who was obsessed with calf and forearm measurements for some odd reason. You're reminding brighty of that one, but unless you've had gender reassignment surgery and moved continents in a few weeks you're not the same person :-P
hahaha! No, that is not me.
I explained why I wanted to know. I have poor self-perception regarding my body & a comment I got from someone struck me as odd, so I wanted to verify whose perception was closer to reality.
oh man, I am so sorry!
12/20 5'4 ~120 lbs
The side effects of allergy medications keep some people from using them. Natural remedies can be a great alternative, but some are more effective than others.
